Common PC Problems And How They Can Be Resolved

Computers are marvels of modern engineering, but they still come with plenty of problems. Whether it’s a slow boot-up time or a program outright refusing to install, it can be infuriating to deal with, especially on a busy day.

Learn about common PC problems and how they can easily be fixed and managed.

  1. The Blue Screen of Death

The’ Blue Death Screen’ is one of the most recognizable software mistakes that can happen, and if you’ve ever used a PC, there’s a good chance you’ve already encountered a blue death screen.

What generally occurs is that for a few seconds your PC becomes unresponsive, and then the display turns totally blue and an error sign (which is sometimes totally undecipherable) appears. Then your PC will restart, and hopefully it will be able to resolve itself. While some blue death error screens are one-offs, they are sometimes a sign that something is incorrect with your PC, and there are a variety of factors as to why you may get a blue death error screen. The primary culprits may be failed hardware, defective software, missing DLL files or driver issues.

  1. Windows Booting Problems

Windows is generally easy to boot, but one of the most prevalent — and irritating— software issues you may experience is a slow-booting PC. Fortunately, it’s one of the simplest to solve as well. There are several explanations why loading your PC will take a lengthy time— but the most prevalent cause is that when Windows begins, there will be too many programs attempting to load in the background.

You may realize that it takes too long to load when you first log into Windows when you install a fresh program. While this can sometimes be helpful as a way to rapidly open up those programs when you need them when too many of them attempt to get started once it can slow your PC to a crawl. The easiest way to fix this issue is to identify which programs are loading up when starting Windows and disable any programs you don’t need.

  1. Programs Refusing to Install

Another prevalent computing issue facing many individuals is an app not installing properly, whether it’s an office tool or an esports betting Australia gaming suite. The absence of hard drive space is the main reason for this. If your hard disk is full, you may not be able to load fresh apps anymore. If this is the case, a bit of spring cleaning will have to be done.

First, you can delete any big files you don’t need anymore. Open File Explorer and navigate to the directory of your Downloads. This folder often contains lots of large documents you don’t need, so feel free to remove any bigger files from it.

You can also uninstall any programs that you no longer use by uninstalling them from the hard drive space. Type “uninstall” in the Taskbar search box (this is the bar running along the top of your Windows 10 display), then press “Add or remove programs.” Scroll down the list of programs displayed and click any programs that you no longer require.
